1/4: bus to santiago, plane to punta arenas .... hello freezing temperatures...

2/4: punta arenas

3/4: bus to ushuaia (argentina)

4-8/4: ushuaia area: beagle channel, tierra del fuego NP, and trying to leave the goddamn end of the world during easter (forgetting pasports and other funny stuff...)

9/4: finally left the place... made it to rio grande... bus to el calafate was full... back to ushuaia... just flew to el calafate...

10/4: perito moreno glacier: awesome!!!!

11/4: day trip to torres del paine NP (back chile). beautiful park. but just too cold and windy to hike for a few days... snow, min a lot during the night, wind, rain,.... brrrrrrrr and onwards to puerto natales

12/4: puerto natales and in the evening boarding the Navimag ferry for 4 nights, but that turned into 6 because of the weather.... thank god for seasickness tablets!!

13-17/4: on board Navimag

18/4: finally back on land... at puerto montt...bus to pucon ....rain... rain...rain...

19/4: relaxing in front of the fireplace an watching tv, eating pizza and drinking wine... ahhhhhh

20/4: climbing the vulcano... kneedeep in the snow, had to turn back because it was too icy and dangerous

21/4: same as 19th and taking the nightbus to santiago

22/4: arriving early morning and taking the bus to mendoza (argentina), a little festival.. a little warmer again....

23/4: wandering around the city, more wine...

24/4: winetasting on a bike... nightbus to Cordoba

25/4: more of the same in cordoba...

26/4: cordoba to puerto iguazu... 22h in the bus... cama (just 3 seats on a row, food, drinks (more wine...), blankets and a pillow, some movies... seats like in first class on a plane) there are worse buses on the planet...

27/4: iguazu falls (brazile).. woooooowwwww...tropical weather...

28/4: iguazu falls (argentina) WAAAAAAAAAAAuWWWWW

29/4: puerto iguazu - buenos aires .. again 18h in a cama-bus...

30 /4 - 7/5: buenos aires... sun...rain...wind...cold... amazing city!!!!!! has it all!!!!

8/5: flight to santiago (chile)... flight to antofagasta... bus to San pedro de atacama... a very long day.... welcome to the meters...2800m

9-10/5: san pedro... trips to valle de la luna (3000m) and el tatio geisers (4300m)... nice and warm during the day... min 10 in the night... everybody gets a cold here!

11-12-13/5: 4x4 trip from san pedro to uyuni (bolivia)... one of the best trips we ever did. amazing landscapes, white , red and green lagunes filled with flamingos... vulcanos ()5000-6000m) everywhere... and the salar the uyuni (3700m)is unbelievable!!! it doesnt get whiter then that... but it was f++++++g cold at night and there was a thing called altitude sickness that made laura feel like dying (for once it was her and not me who was sick!!!)

13/5: nightbus to sucre... welcome back to travelling in the third world again. no more cama buses and nice busrides... but overfilled buses with no legroom and freezing temperatures... but apart from that it is all great again!!! just the way we like it

14-16/5: sucre (2800m)... not to high so warmer again... beautiful colonial architecture... very nice place.. lots of indigenous people with colourfull clothes...

bolivia is very cheap compared to chile and argentina (it is the poorest country in South america)... but there is no malbec (wine) anymore:-(

it is an amazing and beautiful country... so far...

we are off for another nightbus to Oruro (4000m), 3h from La Paz... places still to go in bolivia are: la paz, the amazone, lake titicaca.

we will be home earlier as we are running out of money... it has been great but long... and we need to recover... tis niet allemaal rozegeur en maneschijn:::::::after this it is peru and then Belgium!and we are looking forward to it too!
